Strong and effective: the South Beach diet
In practice cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatson increasingly frustrated when their patients do not lose weight. Like many other so-called "low-carb diets, South Beach Diet is expected that many of us are addicted to foods rich in carbohydrates. The South Beach Diet is very similar to the Atkins diet. They are so similar that many people believe the South Beach Diet is a revised version of the diet Atkins. The initial phases for both systems are designed to rid the body of the addition of carbohydrates. When Atkins diet has four phases, the South Beach Diet has three, single phase, which replaces the second and third phases of Atkins. The final phase of these two schemes, one again, are very similar. Since a greater variety of foods are presented to the top of the South Beach Diet Plan diet tend to lose weight at a pace slightly slower than Atkins, but many find the South Beach Diet easier to follow because it is less restrictive.
This scheme focuses heavily on the balance of sugar levels in the blood, and as such, the glycemic index plays an important role in the scheme. The index glycemic ranking system for carbohydrates based on their effect on blood sugar. The South Beach Diet, carbohydrates are selected from the tables of glycemic index , the lower the rank, the better. Another area where Atkins and approaches differ Agatston is significantly in consumption of healthy fats. Atkins followers are encouraged to consume saturated fat and monounsaturated fat in the first stage, then gradually reduce the saturated fat content of meals while downstream, the introduction of more carbohydrates. Dr. Agatston recommends especially monounsaturated fats like those found in olive oil, nuts and fatty fish like salmon, through their diet. You will not find butter, bacon or fried meal plans in South Beach, while encouraging positive during the initial phases of Atkins.
One benefits of the South Beach diet for many of its competitors is that Kraft Foods has entered into an alliance with Dr. Agatston. Together, they launched a wide range of products South Beach Diet convenience, which covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and even snacks. Examples of convenience foods are offered of breakfast cereals, meal replacement bars, frozen pizza and frozen entrees. Dr. Agatston, once said: "My goal is to contribute to change the way America eats, and these delicious, nutrient-rich products from Kraft are convenient, making it easier for people to follow the South Beach diet - when, for a healthy lifestyle or weight loss.
Like many other popular diet books on the market, it is very difficult to find specific evidence of the South Beach Diet. Some aspects of food may have been scientifically studied and reviewed, for example, the benefits of monounsaturated fats, or the benefits of regulating their blood sugar in the blood. In general, however, is safe to say that the South Beach Diet is based on sound principles, and can provide a good balanced and sustainable way of life.
