What Can I Drink on The Atkins Diet?
Dr. Atkins has specified number of foods and beverages that you can eat during atkins diet. It is important you pay attention carefully because the success of your diet can be decided simply by these foods.
The diet is divided into 4 phase. In induction phase, you will reduce your carbohydrates intake to 20 g per day. In this phase you can lose weight up to 15lbs in the first two weeks. At phase two, you are allowed to increase the daily carbohydrate intake up to 5 g. At phase three, once again you will increase the daily intake of carbohydrates up to 10 g. At phase four, you will maintain the weight that you have achieved. In this phase, you already have good knowledge, how much carbohydrate that your body can take without start gaining weight again.
When you undergo atkins diet it is important you drink enough water. Not just atkins diet, but any low-carb diet. If you do any low-carb diet, drink a lot of water. Dr.Atkins advises to drink 8-ounce water of glasses per day in the form of spring water, mineral water, tap water and filtered water.
There are also lists of beverages that you can find in the guidelines book. The several beverages allowed are club soda, tea, coffee, diet soda, herbal tea.
Caffeine is not allowed for atkins diet. Dr.Atkins suggests that caffeine can affect blood sugar and appetite in some people. It can cause cravings or symptoms of hypoglycemia. If you consume caffeine and you experience the mentioned symptoms you should avoid caffeine at all.
Diet soda is not allowed during the diet period. And also alcohol is not allowed. The consumption of alcohol can slow down your rate of weight loss. After the induction phase you are allowed to drink one glass of wine, one low-carb beer, or a small amount of spirits mixed.

im in the induction phase right now i cant even have fruit !! so what the hell can i drink if i cant have milk either
You can't have V8 juice, it's loaded in carbs. You will have to drink tea coffee and anything sugar-free. You can slowly add carbs after the first 2-3 weeks, but you can't add that much. ANYONE and EVERYONE, including ME put weight on and then some once going off the diet. You have starved your body from carbs and over do it when you lose the weight. So you have to be careful. GOOD LUCK though!!!!
